Embrace sophistication in this Back Valley home, offering a panoramic vista and easy access to Victor Harbor’s many services
Ross and Patricia Atkinson bought 95 Inman Valley Rd in 2019, attracted by its luxurious offering and proximity to both the beach and handy services.
“It was just so opulent and has fantastic views – it ticked all the boxes for us and it also had plenty of room,” Mr Atkinson says. “It’s got a fully self-contained unit downstairs and it’s on nearly a 2700sqm block. We had lived in mainly New South Wales and Victoria and this was a real lifestyle change for us. South Australia is a bit undiscovered in my book, particularly Victor Harbor. We’re only 80km from the capital city whereas in another state you’d still be in a traffic jam day and night.
“We can see from the Coorong to The Bluff, the islands and we overlook the town. In fact, we can see the ocean from nearly every room. We’d only ever been on holidays here and we saw it advertised and that was enough to attract us.
“We love it here and the only reason we’re selling it is because we’re elderly now and while it is fairly low maintenance, it’s a big property for just the two of us, otherwise we’d stay here because we love it.”
The home also offers an eco-friendly lifestyle – something that appealed to the couple.
“While still being on the grid it’s effectively an off-grid home,” Mr Atkinson says. “There are 36 solar panels, 135,000L of rainwater storage, a bore for the garden and an Envirocycle septic system. We’ve got two three-phase airconditioning units we run and we’ve still got about $2000 credit in our electricity account.”
The home has five bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen, family and dining area, a lounge, a study or library, a second open-plan kitchen and living area, and a home theatre or gym.
